Big Size Japanese Porcupine Crab Taxidermy Paralomis histrix
The Japanese porcupine crab (Paralomis histrix) is a heavily armored species of king crab native to the deep waters of southwestern Japan. Renowned for its fierce, alien-like appearance, its entire body and legs are covered in long, sharp spikes that serve as a natural defense mechanism against deep-sea predators. Our crustacean taxidermies are preserved by experienced taxidermists, all meat and organs are 99% cleared with membranes and bone structure remaining. Moreover, all taxidermies are stuffed with refilling materials of super light clay inside which makes them firm, heavy and stable compared to empty shells. The membranes are backfilled and well retained to the joints of these crabs after treatment, restoring the live appearance of specimens.
