This specimen is found in deep sea environments, typically between 271 meters and nearly 700 meters deep.Geographic spread: Reported from the Indo-West Pacific region, including Japan (type locality), Taiwan, the South China Sea/Tungsha Islands, the Philippines, and parts of the Indian Ocean.Scarcity: Poorly represented in museum and scientific collections because deep-sea trawling rarely captures them.
